The issues of effective use of renewable energies and introduction of energy-efficient technologies in Georgia
On May 8, 2012 in the Central office of the Greens Movement of Georgia / Friends of the earth Georgia there was held the round table dedicated to the issues of effective use of renewable energies and introduction of energy-efficient technologies in Georgia. In the round table participated representatives of NGOs and experts.
The participants of the round table discussed the problems and perspectives in the direction of effective use of renewable energy sources and introduction of energy-efficient technologies in Georgia. There were created 5 thematic working groups that will work in the following directions:
1. Assessment of solar, biomass, geothermal and wind energy potentials in Georgia and preparation of conclusion and presentation regarding their future use;
2. Preparation of conclusion and presentation regarding necessity of energy-efficiency in Georgia, its potential and possible results;
3. Analysis of legal base regarding effective us of solar, wind and geothermal energy sources and energy-efficiency in Georgia and preparation of recommendations;
4. Collection of materials regarding international (Germany, France, Czech Republic, Ukraine) experience in terms of effective use of renewable energy sources and introduction of energy-efficiency and preparation of presentation;
5. Preparation of overview and presentation regarding current state of practical use and possible perspectives of Georgian innovative intellectual products.
